Next Borderlands Game Will Probably Contain Elon Musk’s Flamethrower

Next Borderlands Game

There’s no denying that fans patiently await any word on the upcoming Borderlands installment. With nothing to really go off of at this point in time, many are left to their own speculative thoughts. That being said, a new development has arrived involving the next Borderlands game and Elon Musk.

Musk, who some are now referring to as the real-life Handsome Jack, albeit not as evil(or so we think), recently revealed an affordable flamethrower being produced by his venture, The Boring Company. When he broke the news on twitter, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford took action in telling the billionaire that his flamethrower will be included in the next Borderlands game. “Super serious,” Pitchford says in the tweet below:

“The Elon Musket,” one Twitter user cleverly called it. Another named it “Ol’ Musky.” These are great names and all, but until we have digital evidence that Pitchford is indeed “super serious,” we’ll just have to sit and wait. After all, it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility, but we shouldn’t be counting our Rakk eggs before they hatch. That is, of course, assuming they aren’t spawned directly from Hell itself, forgoing the incubating process.

The next Borderlands game is a bit light on information right now, but with a new year here, it’s only a matter of time before Gearbox decides to show something off. Maybe we’ll get another tech demo at this year’s GDC, or we might even see an actual trailer. Only time will tell.
