A New Prey Trailer is Out to Show Off All Alien Species and Yup, That Chair was an Alien (VIDEO)

The Bioshock-esque sci-fi game Prey has a lot of intrigue surrounding it – I mean, haven’t you ever wished you could become toilet paper or a banana? Dreams DO come true. Regardless of some of the sillier aspects of the gameplay, this Bethesda title looks like it is going to be a hit within the genre with the style and the way the narrative is set up. If you wanted a closer look at the aliens and what it will be like to face off with them, now is your chance. A new Prey trailer just dropped and it shows off some of the more terrifying aspects of the enemies within the game.

The video itself is set up to be ‘educational’ and show off the various specifies encountered throughout the game. There are even certain species that can morph into inanimate objects, so be careful which chairs you sit in. Here are the different types notated in the video shown above:

  • Mimic
    • Mimic devours organic matter
  • Phantom
    • Converts husks to phantoms
  • Telepath
    • “More conclusive research needed” Powerful pyshic energy
  • Weaver
    • Create various entities

The video also states that there are alien species that have yet to even been discovered. The footage is intense, seeing a mimic take down a man through his mouth and down his throat is … wow. The video showcases what we can expect from combat style and survivability of the individual alien types shown throughout the overall story. Each class has a unique ability, so fight accordingly.

In the trailer, Bethesda also shows off the exclusive content available for those that pre-order, the “Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack”. This includes a chipset, neuromods, medkits, and more. You can see everything that is included in the image below:

Prey has been referenced by some members of the community as the “spiritual successor” to System Shock but with the mechanics and general tone of the gameplay, it has also been viewed similar to that of the BioShock series. Whatever you think of it, the title itself has definitely captured the attention of gamers and critics alike and is set to drop May 5th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
