New Pilgrim Mod for Fallout 4 Turns Boston Commonwealth into the Stuff of Nightmares (VIDEO)

Pilgrim mod

A new mod for Fallout 4 was created that turns the Boston Commonwealth setting into a straight up horror movie. The Pilgrim mod was apparently inspired by the twisted, gut wrenching, 2015 horror film The Witch. The mod plays with the game’s weather system along with adding such things as “lens emulation, film grain, adjustable letter-boxing, optional sharpening, and a lift shadows function”, to turn the setting into an overcast picture of nightmare fuel filled with mutants. These changes bring new sounds, weather, environmental lighting and, to capture all the scary goodness, a grainy digital cinema camera mode. The new soundtrack that is put in place of the normal Fallout music changes depending on the weather, which makes it even more scary in a way. Check out this teaser video below to see the mod in all its terrifying glory:

The creators of the Pilgrim mod must be sick and twisted individuals, because they also have plans at some point to turn the protagonist’s doggy sidekick Dogmeat into the disturbing goat Black Phillip from The Witch. Unfortunately, this mod will only work with the base game at the moment, so it’s useless when it comes to any pre-installed weather mods or any DLC only settings. Even though it doesn’t add any new quests or anything like that, it is still so worth it to get creeped out in what you thought was a familiar setting and since Fallout 4 is free all weekend, now is definitely the time to try it out!
