New Mass Effect Project Seemingly Teased By Henry Cavill
Henry Cavill and Mass Effect don’t typically land in the same sentence together, though that may be about to change thanks to one of The Witcher star’s recent social media posts. Cavill appears to be teasing his involvement in an as-yet unannounced Mass Effect project, though this tease amounts to a “handful of paper with random words on it.”
Henry Cavill recently took to his popular Instagram account to reveal a new photo of him prepping for a full day of filming for season 2 of Netflix’s The Witcher series. “Secret project? Or just a handful of paper with random words on it,” the image caption reads. “Guess you’ll have to wait and see. Happy hump day all. #HumpDay #Secrets”.

Said ‘paper with random words on it’ aren’t as random as one might think, though. The folks over at GamePressure utilized a program called Focus Magic to get rid of the blur, and in doing so it’s revealed that the text includes key Mass Effect words such as Tali’Zorah, the Geth, and Cerberus. In fact, upon further examination the text is directly pulled from the Wikipedia page for Mass Effect 3.
“Following the events on Tuchanka and a failed coup by Cerberus to take over the Citadel, the Quarians offer their support to the Alliance if Shepard helps them reclaim their homeworld, Rannoch, from the Geth,” the page reads. “Assisted by a Quarian, either Tali’Zorah or Admiral Daro’Xen, Shepard boards a Geth dreadnought and rescues a captive Geth unit, either Legion or a facsimile occupied by a Geth virtual intelligence (VI), then disables the Reaper control signal over the Geth.”
Putting these pieces together, there is some possibility that Henry Cavill may be involved with some sort of Mass Effect movie adaptation. Legendary Pictures acquired the movie rights to the franchise back in 2010, though there’s been very little news on that front since. Cavill comes across more as heartthrob than a space jarhead, though a few years back folks couldn’t picture him as Geralt of Rivia either.
