New ‘Legend of Zelda’ Game In The Works?
The title of 2017 game of the year award was deserved for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as one of the best-selling games for the Nintendo Switch console with 10 million sales since its release last year. It’s one hell of an adventure as players assume the role of Link once more to save Hyrule from total chaos and destruction at the hand of Ganandorf. The open world in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a vast one. There was plenty to explore, three different downloadable content to experience, and quests to embark on, but fans of the franchise are ready for another title and it may just happen.
Thanks to a heads up from user “guru-guru” on ResetEra, Nintendo Japan is on the lookout for talent to develop another Legend of Zelda game. Whether it’s a mainline game for the Nintendo Switch or another platform remains to be seen, but the Kyoto office is looking to fill two positions – a 3DCG designer and a level designer. The aforementioned role will be assigned the task of making topographical creations for dungeons, level, and concept designs. As for the latter, the person filling the role will be responsible for enemy, world, game events, and dungeons.
Based on the translation from the original post, the details are sparse. The user clarifies that the listing doesn’t place any mention on a “next” game, it can certainly be perceived as such. Nintendo has remained relatively quiet in regards to The Legend of Zelda franchise since the release of Breath of the Wild. It seems too soon to announce another mainline game for the franchise, but who knows – perhaps these were already plans in the making. We’ll just have to wait. Who knows, maybe it’s another mobile title?
