New Immortals: Fenyx Rising Trailer Cements Itself As Ubisoft's Breath Of The Wild (VIDEO)

Despite being overshadowed by a not insignificant amount of controversy, the recent Ubisoft Forward event saw a few intriguing game reveals as well as some updates to previously announced titles. One such of the latter was for Immortals: Fenyx Rising, which up until recently was known as Gods & Monsters.

During the presentation, Ubisoft debuted a new game trailer that helped solidify Immortals as a Breath of the Wild-like  open world title for those with an appreciation of Greek mythology. Rather curiously set to a sample of James Brown’s I Got Ants In My Pants (And I Want To Dance), the trailer skips over the titular character’s ‘rising’ and instead shows off Fenyx’s potential for demigod badassery. Check it out below:

“Immortals Fenyx Rising is a fresh and witty take on the open world action adventure genre, featuring dynamic action, combat and stories inspired by Greek mythology,” the description of the game reads. “Roam freely across a beautifully stylized world and use extraordinary abilities gifted by the gods against fearsome mythological monsters. Treacherous trials, heroic feats and the very underworld itself await your bravery.”

Immortals: Fenyx Rising is slated to release on December 3rd, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with the title also slated to release on next-gen consoles pending console launch dates.
