For much of the video game industry’s history, games adapting popular film and television franchises to the medium have been quite common. One such new adaptation that fans have been waiting for is the new Evil Dead: The Game. The game has promised a faithful celebration of the franchise’s history, now in video game form. While the game has sadly been delayed several times already, it has been making decent progress towards becoming a reality. Now, new information about the game’s pre-order bonuses, as well as the brand new and returning characters, have been revealed ahead of the game’s launch.

Saber Interactive has revealed new Evil Dead: The Game information through the official PlayStation blog. The post mostly focuses on the new and veteran characters that will be represented in the game. Re-confirmed are Bruce Campbell returning as the iconic Ash Williams, as well as the young Kelly Maxwell and Pablo Simon Bolivar from the recent Ash Vs Evil Dead tv series. The post acknowledges that the game releases during the 40th anniversary of the original Evil Dead film. It is now confirmed that all five of the original actors from that film will be in the new game. Aside from Ash, Cheryl Williams and Scotty will return as playable Survivor characters, with Ellen Sandweiss and Hal Delrich returning to portray them. Theresa Tilly and Betsy Baker will also have some participation in the game as voice actors as well.

Saber Interactive has also unveiled the pre-order bonuses for the game. Fans can earn the Gallant Knight and S-Mart employee uniform skins for Ash Williams (both outfits being references to the Army of Darkness film) with a pre-order of any version of the game ahead of its launch on May 13th. The game is closer than ever to its long-awaited launch, and these returning characters and clever skins are making it look oh-so groovy, baby!
