Apex Legends has been riding high as the predominant battle royale title ever since its release a short few weeks ago, with many praising the game’s well-paced gameplay and mostly balanced weapon options. Now, it appears that the playing field is going to be getting just a bit bigger soon, with a leak revealing some new details about an upcoming Legend.

The news comes by way of a dataminer with Gaming INTEL, who uncovered some info about a new character named Prophet. Said dataminer did some digging within the Apex Legends game files and also uncovered an ability name for Prophet called “Precog,” which is listed as a HUD element. This essentially means that the file relates to the on-screen image that states whether or not the ability is ready for use.

It is still anyone’s guess as to what kind of character Prophet will turn out to be, though we’ve a few guesses as to what their Precog ability does. It may be something similar to what Pathfinder can do to predict the next circle of the map, though to mix things up a bit it could instead have something to do with the random supply drops that dot the landscape. Another – though less likely – possibility is that Precog may be able to determine where higher tier loot is, though that would likely only be if it’s Prophet’s passive ability, unless it’s localized like Bloodhound’s Eye of the Allfather. DFTG will keep tabs on the Apex Legends leaks and report back when we know more.
