The summer season is now upon us and while this means movie theaters are packing screens with oodles of blockbusters, it appears streaming service Netflix is also looking to do the same. Quite a few outstanding selections have been announced for Netflix July 2019, the biggest of the bunch including Disney’s magical follow-up Mary Poppins Returns, an explosive third season of Stranger Things, and violent Nazi-hunting romp Inglourious Basterds.

In terms of third-party content, the first of the month brings all sorts of favorites like the found-footage Cloverfield and forgetful comedy The Hangover, but family fare such as The Croods and Disney’s The Princess and the Frog also see their debut throughout the rest of the month. In addition, Netflix July 2019 also ushers in a bevy of Originals, staples Orange is the New Black and Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee receiving new episodes alongside the premiere of anime Kengan Ashura and Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac.

Just like Netflix July’s prominent additions, an arguably equal array of titles is also set to take a summer vacation. The first two Austin Powers films, as well as The Matrix and Mummy trilogies, each take their leave in July with Disney-owned films Cars 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales set to follow at varying times in the month. In a very rare occurrence, an Original series is also leaving the streaming platform in Knights of Sidonia, the fan-favorite space anime expiring early in July.

In other Netflix news, the Witcher series recently had a number of details revealed through a series of photos, possibly revealing a 2019 release date as well as fans’ first look at Roach and some spiffy Nilfgaardian armor. The recent E3 season also introduced some interesting new adaptations in a Magic The Gathering series in addition to a game based on the upcoming prequel of The Dark Crystal.
