As November’s Thanksgiving festivities wind down, sights now set on the incoming holiday season that decorates the remainder of the year. The season of giving is now in full swing and Netflix December is following in kind with a myriad of movies, numerous new shows, and a fresh cornucopia of original content such as the final season of Voltron: Legendary Defender, the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War, and the stunning Jungle Book adaptation Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle.

As usual, the beginning of Netflix December brings an avalanche of movies, a few highlights including the return of Hellboy, the goofy animation Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Ice Cube’s hilarious Friday trilogy. In terms of originals, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina receives a holiday special, Alfonso Cuaron’s arty chronicle Roma drops, and Bird Box unleashes its sight-nixing horror upon audiences. On top of that, quite a few anime series make their debut such as crime thriller Hero Mask, the action-heavy Baki, as well as Neo Yokio’s Pink Christmas special.

However, the numerous gifts arriving for Netflix December aren’t without a lump of coal, as several notable selections are also getting the boot (I blame Thanos). Bill Murray’s classic Groundhog Day is ending, biker series Sons of Anarchy takes its last ride, and the animation Trolls dances off into the sunset. Of course, with Disney’s new streaming service on the way, both Moana and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl are also leaving to presumably rejoin the house of mouse.
