Return to New Bordeaux with First Mafia 3 Story DLC and Free Demo (VIDEO)
Mafia 3 is a story of vengeance, bayou culture, and civil rights. The city of New Bordeaux is a wonderful city, loosely based on New Orleans, complete with rich nightlife, gators, and bayou superstitions. It’s pleasing to see that the Mafia 3 Story DLC released today will expand on this, for fans of the environment surrounding the story. This first of three DLC’s is called Faster, Baby! and releases alongside a free trial for the main game.

The free trial is a decent-sized download of 24 GB on the PC, 27 GB on PlayStation, and 25 GB on Xbox. This demo allows for new potential players to play through the “Pre- Act” of the game, which sets up the rest of the story. This start of the game will see players in fictional Bayou town, New Bordeaux, as they plan and execute a bank heist. If the player enjoys it and decides to purchase the full game, they can do so and still maintain the progress they’ve made so far in the trial. It’s also worth noting that the game is also on sale for $29.99 at the moment, so purchasing the full title now would be a good idea. Mafia III normally retails at the price of $39.99.

Faster, Baby! puts players back into the driver’s seat with fast cars, stunt driving, and intense car chases. Lincoln will join up with an old flame of his named Roxy Laveau. Together, they take on a corrupt sheriff terrorizing local civil rights activists. It will feature 5 new vehicles, as well as a new weapon, 2 new outfits, and an added ability to drop mines and grenades onto other cars. That’ll help with those high speed chases players are bound to get into. If you’d like to purchase the DLC, it’ll cost you $15, unless you want to purchase the season pass in which case the price would be $30.
There are another two story DLC’s planned for this year. The first of which is Stones Unturned, featuring Lincoln Clay and CIA Agent John Donovan as they attempt to settle a blood feud between them and and old rival from Vietnam. The second and last known DLC is called Sign of the Times and sees Father James request Lincoln to stop a cults ritualistic killings within New Bordeaux. Stones Unturned will release sometime in May and Sign of the Times can be expected to arrive in July, prices of the two have yet to be determined but will be available within the season pass.
Mafia 3 is an excellent open world game and plays a lot on the historical issue of race. It also holds a lot of water with its insight into the bayou culture which can be intriguing for those who have never been there and refreshing for those who have.
