New Lego Batman Movie Promos Show the Caped Crusader Hating Hugs and More! (VIDEOS)

Lego Batman Movie

The Lego Batman Movie draws nearer with each and every passing second, but until its release on February 10, we have to sustain ourselves on the promotional materials that are unleashed on the world. The two newest TV spots, posted to Comicbook.com’s YouTube channel, certainly add to the hype of the upcoming movie about the brick form Caped Crusader and his shenanigans while finding himself and attempting to save Gotham.

The first TV spot, Family, features a young Robin staring at family photos in Wayne Manor, longing for one of his own. When the Dark Knight and his trusty butler, Alfred, notice this, Alfred tries to bring logic into it, but Batman isn’t having any of that. This leads to a few scenes where we get to see Barbara Gordon question Batman and the weirdness that comes with having an adolescent sidekick. Following this is Robin attempting to hug Batman, who believes it to be an attack of sorts. Check out the humorous video below:

The second TV spot, Cue the Music, opens with Batman searching for one thing, and one thing only: a kick-butt theme song. With one strum of the guitar comes a melodic riff, but Batman rejects it immediately. He makes an adjustment, strums again, and Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart my Heart” begins to play over a few scenes of Gotham being destroyed by The Joker, while Batman and Robin attempt to stop him. Shenanigans ensue.

The Lego Batman Movie is being directed by Chris McKay(Robot Chicken, The Lego Movie, Moral Orel), and is being distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film stars Will Arnett as Batman, Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker. It is set to release on February 10 in the US.
