One of the most anticipated award winning games of the year, Legend of Zelda release date for Breath of the Wild was rumored later than anticipated for North American consumers, is back in the rumor mill once more. The game has been teased to death, with the release of art on New Years, to a surprise play through on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight show. Fans have been reeling at the chance to get solid news on the game.

While we don’t like to speculate, however several sources have stated that the Legend of Zelda release for Breath of the Wild will be in March for North America. The news doesn’t cover the European release, sadly, however the date lines up will with marketing and the release of Nintendo Switch. We won’t have solid confirmation until the 12th, but it’s a nice bit of news to chew on while we wait!

For those who are unfamiliar, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has become a big deal for a few pretty cool reasons. For one, the game is reaching back to its roots with a much more open world style game, expected to te twelve times larger than overworld in Twilight Princess, with dungeons that can be played in any order. Something a-la original Legend of Zelda. The developers at Nintendo also added to the games mechanics allowing for players to jump and climb nearly any surface in the game. They’ve expanded on items and a lot more too!

The game is also Amiibo compatible! Each unique Amiibo comes with its own treasure or aid. For instance, Wolf Link will aid you in combat and carries over left over hearts saved to the Amiibo after players complete The Cave of Shadows in Twilight Princess. The others summon special treasure chest and some in addition produce random amounts of other items that might be useful.

The story line is your typical, Link wakes up from coma like dream state, Ganon must be stopped or Hyrule will be destroyed, adventure ensues! But why depart from the classics when you’re reaching back to your roots? All in all the Legend of Zelda release of Breath of the Wild promises a lot of fun and interesting changes that are altering the way the franchise is played!

We wont have anything confirmed by Nintendo until January 12th, however, so this is still speculative. There will be a live Broadcast from Nintendo streaming from 8pm PT to 11 PM ET on the 12th in which they will unveil more about the Nintendo Switch and the Legend of Zelda release date for Breath of the Wild.
