MARIO WARFARE is the Live-Action Mario Movie You Never Knew You Needed (VIDEO)

MARIO WARFARE

In the not too distant past, there was a time called the 90’s. This period of time brought about many wonderful things, especially in terms of video games, movies, and music. However, it also provided many with terrible things in these same categories. One of the films that was produced in 1993 happened to be based on everyone’s favorite plumber and his sidekick brother.

That’s right, we’re talking about the live-action Super Mario Bros. movie starring Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper. This relic of the past demonstrates just how poorly a live-action adaptation of a video game can be made. Thankfully, we’re not stuck in the 90’s and things like MARIO WARFARE can be made.

MARIO WARFARE

MARIO WARFARE is a fan-made live-action Super Mario Bros. film that was originally an eight part series released between 2012 and 2014. YouTube user Beat Down Boogie is the creator of said series and after completing it, they decided to cut everything together and make a 77 minute film out of the eight parts, call it The Complete Saga, and release it for the world to enjoy on YouTube. Is MARIO WARFARE the best video game movie ever made? It is not, but what it most certainly is, without question, is entertaining.

This fun film brings us to the front lines as Bowser has invaded the Mushroom Kingdom. Peach is forced to leave the castle, aided by an ass-kicking Toad, and by order of her father. A bit of a rewind brings us to the Mario brothers, Mario and Luigi, as they enlist to aid in the efforts of protecting their beloved kingdom. After landing back in the present day, we see Mario and Luigi doing their duty to help, Peach gets trained by an unlikely ally, an underground club is discovered… and that’s where I will leave you as to not spoil anything. This is a fun 77 minutes and is definitely worth your time. Check it out below:
