‘Left 4 Dead With Demons’ Concept Art Shared By God of War Game Designer (VIDEO)
So, no – we may not be getting that rumored Left 4 Dead 3 anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean that there’s not a few cool things out there on the interwebs along the same scope. Respected game designer David Jaff recently revealed a unique concept for a game that never was, and it’s a far cry from his usual work like Twisted Metal and God of War. Well, maybe not God of War – the supernatural aspect was definitely present during the creative process.
His pitch was Left 4 Dead, but with Demons instead of the overplayed zombies trope. Titled ‘Guardians,’ his vision included a co-op flying shooter that had players assume powerful roles when defending humanity against formidable demons. Take a look at the story pitch in the video below to see what could have been:
According the video’s description:
A 3 min story pitch video for GUARDIANS, a game we were considering making at BARTLET JONES. Heavily story based co-op flying/shooter. Imagine LEFT 4 DEAD but with DEMONS instead of zombies and where each of the 4 playable characters had unique super powers.”
Looking at the video above and knowing Jaffe’s talents – it kind of hits us hard in the feels to know that this never made it out of concept phase. Who knows, maybe with enough media outlets reporting it and enough interest from the gaming community this could potentially be made a reality? We certainly wouldn’t mind seeing this world of guardians and demons, what about you guys? Would you like to see a game like this come into fruition? Sound off with your thoughts on this Left 4 Dead-esque game in the comment section below and while you’re at it, don’t forget to check out DFTG on Twitter for gaming and entertainment news live 24/7!
