Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame has been in theaters now for a short few days, so that naturally means that there are trolls out there trying to ruin it for others by posting spoilers for the movie. While it is admittedly difficult for social media platforms to do anything about these trolls, game developers in general have the autonomy to punish players as they see fit, and now Riot Games has swung the ban hammer at a League of Legends player for posting Endgame spoilers.

The admittedly brave Redditor by the name of Laptop-Guy recently posted on Reddit stating that he was temporarily banned from his League of Legends account for posting Avengers: Endgame spoilers. The Redditor reportedly read a thread on the subject that stated that he couldn’t be penalized for posting spoilers, but as he stated, he “learned otherwise.”

Based on the above screenshot, the Redditor likely submitted a ticket asking Riot about why he was temporarily banned, with Riot’s response revealing that it was the player’s disruptive player, AKA the posting of Avengers: Endgame spoilers. While Laptop-Guy did state that he was “kinda mad” about the decision, he also admitted that he “completely deserved this.” Regardless of the medium used, it should be pretty obvious by now that posting spoilers is not okay, especially given how much of a build up has gone into the final movie of Phase 1 of the MCU. Thankfully, Laptop-Guy seems to have learned his lesson, and he’ll be back to playing League of Legends soon.
