The Legend of Korra: Pro-Bending Arena Tabletop Game Makes it to Kickstarter (VIDEO)

The previously announced The Legend of Korra: Pro-Bending Arena has finally made its way to Kickstarter and it’s already gained great momentum. Back in June, IDW Games announced their partnership with Nickelodeon to bring to the public and fans of the animated television series a fast-paced tabletop game. Designed by the same mind that created Akrotiri and The Godfather: A New Don tabletops, Sen-Foong Lim brings this two-player match that’s sure to devastate friendships.

As explained in the Kickstarter introductory trailer above, this game is part deck-building and strategy. In order to win, one team must cross over to the other team’s side first OR knock out all opposing benders out of the ring. Focus the bender’s chi in order to “purchase” new technique cards that will help in your pursuit to reign supreme or even “turn the tide”. Choose wisely for that may mean the beginning or the end for the team.

Of course, there is more than one way to win. At the beginning of the match, players can choose powerful trick cards that can be used once during the match or a slightly less impactful one for more uses throughout. It’s all about strategy, baby.

By purchasing The Legend of Korra: Pro-Bending Arena tabletop game via Kickstarter, pledgers are privy to extra goodies in comparison to retail sale units. A 65 USD pledge gets you a laundry list of items including the board, Fire Ferret miniatures, Wolfbat miniatures, tokens, tons of mystery teams, promo poster, and so much more. For an additional $30 on top of the chosen pledge, prospective benders can add on the “Amon Invasion” pack, an expansion that includes 3 additional game modes. For more details on that, be sure to check out the Kickstarter page.

IDW Games has already surpassed their pledge goal, but it’s not too late to get your own copy. So, gamers, what kind of tabletop games do you play?
