Killing Floor 2 Summer Sideshow Event Announced at E3, Available Now (VIDEO)
Developer Tripwire Interactive revealed new seasonal content for Killing Floor 2 during the PC Gaming Show at E3 2017. The new event is called Summer Sideshow, and it is available for a limited time (one month) beginning today for PC players, and later this summer on the PS4. Additionally, the game is also free to play for one week – now through June 20th – and the game is also 50% off to purchase. Check out the Killing Floor 2 Summer Sideshow trailer below to get a glimpse of what’s in store during the event:
The Killing Floor 2 Summer Sideshow content takes place on a new map called The Tragic Kingdom. Styled after a macabre amusement park, the map tasks players with completing specific objectives, while going up against reskinned versions of KF2‘s scarier Zeds, such as the Scrakes and Fleshpounds. The reskinned enemies will also show up throughout the game’s normal maps during the one month event period. Upon completion of all the map’s objectives, players will earn the event exclusive Sideshow Hazmat Suit. The Summer Sideshow event also introduces two new weapons to the game: the HZ12 Shotgun exclusively for the Support Perk, and the Centerfire Lever Action rifle, primarily for Sharpshooter and Multi-Perk with Gunslinger.
Arriving with the Killing Floor 2 Summer Sideshow event are over 50 new cosmetic items, such as characters skins and face paints. These and more can be unlocked by earning tickets during normal gameplay. There are also more paid cosmetic DLC options available, all of which can be purchased normally through the shop.
Tripwire Interactive is also upping the ante with Weekly Outbreaks, which essentially offers up a new game mode every week for KF2 players to master. There is currently no info on what to expect from the Weekly Outbreaks, though the developer promises that more news is coming soon.
