Jurassic World Sequel Adds Justice Smith to the Casting List
Following the huge success of Jurassic World, the successor to the Jurassic Park films, Universal studios has moved a sequel film into the pre-production stages and is now beginning to add names to their list of cast members.
Jurassic World blew away box office records last year, scoring the biggest domestic debut of all time with $208.8 million. The film went on to haul $1.7 billion worldwide — including $652.3 million in the U.S. — making it the fourth highest-grossing movie in history, domestically and worldwide.
Returning, of course, to the land out of time are actors Chris Pratt reprising his role as Owen Grady, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing. At this time sources have now verified that a new addition to the cast will include actor Justice Smith. Smith has most recently been noted for his success in the Netflix music drama “The Get Down” directed by Baz Luhrmann, as well as co-starring in the 2015 film based off John Green’s novel “Paper Towns.” We have yet to learn the name of his character for the sequel to Jurassic World, however we do know that he will be playing the role of a young scientist.
Variety announced in an exclusive earlier in November that Toby Jones and Rafe Spall are also in talks with Universal to join the cast for the next chapter in the Jurassic World franchise. So far no plot has been given for the second installment of Jurassic World and such being the case we have only personal speculations to go off. The film is currently set for release sometime in 2018, no other details have been released at this time.
