Hitman Trilogy Collection Arrives Next Week, Xbox Game Pass At Launch

Hitman Trilogy

IO Interactive delivered a fresh iteration of the Hitman franchise with the World of Assassination trilogy, presenting a murderous sandbox comparable in scope to the Final Destination films. The three-part saga found its finale with last year’s Hitman 3, but it looks like the studio still has plans for Agent 47 with the arrival of an all-in-one collection titled ‘Hitman Trilogy.’ Better yet, the release is also confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch.

As revealed during a recent livestream event, IO announced Hitman Trilogy would comprise Hitman 1, Hitman 2, and Hitman 3 and would release on January 20th for PlayStation, Xbox, as well as PC. Alongside the Epic Games Store, this would see the trilogy would arrive on Steam, marking the debut of Hitman 3 on the Valve platform following Epic Games’ exclusivity deal. Of course, Hitman Trilogy is also confirmed for Microsoft’s premium subscription service Xbox Game Pass as well as PC Game Pass on the same date.

In addition to each aforementioned game, Hitman Trilogy will also get a number of PC-focused enhancements later in 2022. IHitmanpartnership with Intel, all three titles are to feature support for Ray Tracing, Variable Rate Shading, and Intel XeSS, an advanced upscaler similar to Nvidia DLSS. Joining the previous entries, Hitman 3 will also finally get PC VR support on day one, though not much was specified, devices were said to entail “the most popular hardware” in IO’s official blog.

Though Hitman Trilogy was the arguable highlight, the main focus of the broadcast fleshed out the myriad of content coming to Hitman 3 in its Year 2 roadmap. Among them comes a new regularly rotating Elusive Target Arcade mode coming on day one, a new strategy-based solo experience called Freelancer coming in Spring, as well as a mysterious new map codenamed ‘Rocky’ set for “later in 2022.” On top of all this Hitman goodness, IO Interactive is also working on a new 007 game starring a wholly original take on James Bond.
