Hitman Studio Reportedly Developing Xbox-Exclusive Fantasy RPG
The developers at IO Interactive recently released the conclusion to The World of Assassination trilogy with Hitman 3, but it would seem that something else might be happening behind the scenes. According to a report, IOI is working on a new IP in the realm of fantasy RPG and it is apparently going to be exclusive to Xbox.
The report in question comes from Windows Central (via Eurogamer), who was informed a few months ago that talks were going on between Microsoft and IO Interactive regarding a fantasy RPG under the name Project Dragon. In addition to this, there are also various job listings on the Hitman studio’s website that offer up a few more details. For starters, they are looking for a senior UX designer to join the team on an unannounced AAA project. This project also happens to be in the “Dragon” department.
It is worth noting that the Hitman devs have already announced the James Bond game they are working on, so there is definitely something else happening behind the scenes. Even just the mentioning of Dragon on IOI’s website gives weight to the report of them creating a new fantasy RPG under the name Project Dragon. Either way, we will have to wait and see if this is something that comes to fruition as it is likely extremely early in development.
If you want to know something the Hitman devs are working on that is confirmed, you can read more about that right here. Of course, none of this would be the least bit surprising with the way Microsoft has been collecting studios and the like as of late.
