For those who grew up on Scholastic book fairs, reading competitions, or just took joy in picking up a book – R.L. Stine comes alive in a horror survival game releasing this Summer! The developers at Cosmic Forces are ready to bring the children horror books to life with Goosebumps: Dead of Night, a PC and console release based on their mobile VR version. Check out the trailer below:

In Goosebumps: Dead of Night, good ol’ Slappy has escaped from the pages of the titular book and “reunited his family of monsters.” It’s up to the player to soil the creepy, animated doll’s plans of unleashing mayhem and monsters in the world. Solve puzzles, explore, hide, and survive creatures of nightmares and tall tales to put a stop to it all.

For fans of the R.L. Stine series, Dead of Night will feature classic locations from the books including the Tesla Tower. “As you find the missing pages from R.L. Stine’s book, you’ll need to navigate the twisted and overgrown conservatory to confront Dr. Brewer and climb the heights of Tesla’s Tower to stop Slappy’s plans,” Cosmic Forces explained.

While Goosebumps: Dead of Night may not be as frightening as horror titles aimed at traumatizing adults for the rest of their lives, this might be a good title to start off with for horror fans across all ages. If you’re a fan of R.L. Stine, that’s a plus too. It is slated for release this Summer for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
