UPDATE: In a new Xbox Wire post, Microsoft reveals The New Day DLC is now available for Gears 5. The content pack is available for $19.99 USD through Microsoft and Steam storefronts or as a free perk for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

Microsoft has cemented the Xbox brand as a solid force in the game industry, thanks in no small part to the exclusive original franchises made for its series of consoles. One such franchise has been the Gears of War series, which celebrated the release of its latest entry Gears 5 just last year. That sequel has now found continued life, due to a recent next-gen upgrade on the Xbox Series X, as well as a set of upcoming DLC. This new content brought the celebrity face of former wrestler/actor Dave Bautista to the game and now several other wrestling legends are coming as well, as The New Day DLC has been announced for the game.

WWE wrestler and The New Day member Austin Creed, also known as Xavier Woods, recently announced The New Day DLC for Gears 5 on his official Twitter account. Creed confirms that both he and his fellow The New Day members, Big E and Kofi Kingston, will soon be playable DLC characters in Gears 5. Included in the tweet are images of The New Day wrestlers in signature Gears of War armor, albeit with a blue, yellow, and pink color scheme often worn by the trio in the ring.

Creed and the other members of The New Day are well known for their love of pop culture and nerd-favorite pastimes. Members of the trio have previously been seen wearing Dragon Ball-inspired outfits in the wrestling ring and have appeared at various video game-related events and comic conventions in the past. There’s no word yet on when this new DLC will launch, but this crossover will certainly delight Gears of War and WWE fans alike. Here’s hoping the DLC includes Booty-O’s cereal as a power-up in the game.
