Gears 5 Adds Dave Bautista’s ‘Batista Bomb’ Finisher From WWE (VIDEO)

Gears 5 Dave Bautista Batista Bomb

Gears 5 notably became the biggest-ever release for Xbox One late last year, but the gorgeous shooter became even bigger with the addition of “Big Dave” himself Dave Bautista. A former WWE wrestler and very vocal fan of the Gears franchise, the athlete-turned-actor notably joined the game’s roster as a playable character, available to anyone willing to unlock him. However, it appears that The Coalition has now taken things further with the addition of the athlete’s signature move in the WWE, the Batista Bomb.

From now until April 18th, Gears 5 players will have the chance to get a violent new execution based on the Batista Bomb, the move replicating the iconic slam featured throughout the wrestler’s sizeable career. To get the move, players are encouraged to check out any available multiplayer mode and they’ll be awarded the new execution for free. Footage showing the maneuver in action can be viewed in the trailer below.

The addition of Dave Bautista’s Batista Bomb happens just days after the latest Gears 5 multiplayer update titled Operation 3: Gridiron. The free collection of content notably introduced the Gridiron game mode, which Microsoft describes as “a new, single-life mode that pits two teams of five against each other in an effort to capture the flag and take it to the endzone.” Various modes also bring back familiar characters from the franchise such as Augustus “Cole Train” Cole and Clayton Carmine as well as Locust Horde leader Queen Myrrah in a villain role.

Gears 5 is available now for PC and Xbox One.
