Gears 5 Adding Dave Bautista As Playable Character

Gears 5 Adding Dave Bautista As Playable Character

It looks like Dave Bautista is finally squeezing himself into the Gears franchise, though not in the way we expected. Previously, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor has expressed his desire to star as Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War film, with even the likes of Terry Crews happily jumping on-board with the idea. Now, it appears that that Bautista is instead being made a playable character in Gears 5.

The news comes by way of Bautista himself, who recently tweeted out a short video clip of him dressed in typical ‘Gears’ fashion before turning around and throwing on a pair of shades, because of course he did. Check it out below:

One interesting thing to point out is that Bautista is referencing WWE Clash of Champions, and the spelling on his name is the spelling of his wrestling persona. So, that’s likely the actual ‘character’ that will be appearing in Gears 5. As to where he’ll end up, the campaign isn’t really a possibility, so he will likely be joining the likes of The Terminator and Sarah Connor in the game’s multiplayer modes.

Gears 5 releases on September 10 for PC and Xbox One.
