Fortnite’s Survive the Storm Update is Rolling Out Next Week – Prepare for a Challenge (VIDEO)

Fortnite‘s Survive the Storm update is rolling out this week with all sorts of epic new loot, weapons, mutants, and storms to test your strength and tenacity in rolling with the punches. Starting August 29th, special “mutant storms” will present interesting challenges to players that will, in the end, reward you with new heroes, weapons, defenders, and exclusive loot.

With this brand new update, enemies prove even tougher and stronger than before and that means players need to better prepare when the sun’s out. Of course, as it is appropriately named, there will be storms with modifiers that make survival that much tougher. Whether it’s limited health or enraged husks, players can expect a nice reward at the end. Check out the announcement trailer below for a sneak peek at what’s to come:

Let’s not forget that a new set of 9 hydraulic weapons that are obtainable. “Scavenged from the industrial yards of Plankerton”, these husk-destroyers can only be acquired by collecting tickets after toughing out mutant storms. There are spears, swords, hammers, and much more — see for yourself in the gallery below. Of course, new heroes will be making their debut with Fortnite’s Survive the Storm update, but very little in ways of details was revealed until it the 29th. So, make sure to “survive the storm” before it disappears too soon. You never know what you’re gonna get!
