Fortnite Weekly Challenge Schedule Changed, Details Here
Fortnite players that were looking to get an early start on the Season 4 Week 5 challenges were upset to find that, when the time came for the weekly reset, the challenge countdown was stuck on zero seconds. Before long concern began to accumulate regarding the issue, at which point Epic Games stepped in and announced that the countdown error was a known issue, and that the start date for the Week 5 challenges had been shifted back.
KNOWN ISSUE: Week 5 challenges available in 0 seconds.
Week 5 challenges will be available on 05/31 at 4am ET/8am GMT.
This was an intended change to push back Weekly Challenges to Thursdays.

Although no additional information was shared via Twitter, Epic Games took to Reddit to reveal why the challenges were being pushed back to Thursday start dates as opposed to the normal Tuesday resets.
“Starting this week with the v4.3 update we will be updating the Weekly Challenges on every Thursday rather than with the update for the remainder of Season 4,” Epic Games’ community coordinator Nathan “JustMooney1” Mooney revealed. “Our goal is to reduce the risk of new weekly challenges being put in a bad state if the weekly rollover is delayed.”
For those still wondering what to expect from the delayed Season 4 Week 5 challenges, the publisher revealed the details just a few days ago. Thanks to the delay, Fortnite fans can expect the following when Week 5 goes live on Thursday May 31st:
Fortnite – Season 4 Week 5 Challenges
- Deal damage with SMGs to opponents – 500
- Search Chests in Dusty Divot – 7
- Use a Jetpack – 1
- Search Gravity Stones – 7
- Follow the treasure map found in Greasy Grove – 1 (Hard)
- Minigun or Light Machine Gun Eliminations – 2 (Hard)
- Eliminate opponents in Lucky Landing – 3 (Hard)
Fortnite is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
