Fortnite Gift Giving Feature Coming Soon, Epic Games Confirms
The joy of gift-giving arrives earlier than Christmas this year and it’s an feature for video games that gives players a chance to befriend prospective allies or give a neat little something to others just because. According to Epic Games, this feature will be coming soon to Fortnite and that means players can make charitable choices for others in need! A Reddit user posted a screenshot of an unannounced account feature called “Gifting” and there it gives players the option to toggle on or off.
According to Epic Games developer and fellow Redditor, MrPopoTFS, “gifting will be coming in the future,” but the team doesn’t have an exact date just yet. The screenshot from user HiinXCVIII can be seen below:

Though it’s a confirmed feature heading to the game, the extent to what can be gifted was not divulged either. However, it’s likely that cosmetic items will be among the available to give and perhaps even weapons, but that all remains speculative. This will likely span the different Fortnite game modes as well, beyond the Battle Royale mode that everyone has come to love. Perhaps there’s a friend on your team that can’t afford to glamorously glide around the map, and you have expendable cash on hand? Not a bad idea. Or the idea of purchasing a Battle Pass for a helpful player?
There’s likely some design and user interface issues Epic Games must take care of first before they implement gifting, but it’s safe to say that it’s a highly sought-after feature. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what the near future has in store. In the meantime, Fortnite’s latest update include the new Playground limited-time mode, a slew of weapons and other fantastic additions to the game. Check out the full patch notes here.
