The holiday season is nearly upon us, and with it, the young and the young heart around the world are all eagerly anticipating the annual visit from everyone’s favorite aged humanoid on December 25th. Everyone knows this of course to be The Doctor, who has graced televisions with an annual holiday special since the rebooted Doctor Who BBC began production in 2005. While Whovians may be sad knowing that this year’s special marks the final appearance of Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor, they take delight knowing he will be interacting with the first incarnation of the Doctor in the special. Now, the first official Doctor Who 2017 Christmas Special Clip shows the two Doctors meeting for the first time.

The clip, seen above, was posted this past weekend on the official Doctor Who YouTube channel, showing when the First Doctor enters the Twelfth Doctor’s TARDIS for the first time. The First Doctor, originally portrayed by the late William Hartnell in the 1960s, is portrayed by David Bradley, who is also known as Walter Frey from Game Of Thrones and portrayed William Hartnell in the Doctor Who biographical film, An Adventure In Space And Time.

Joining the two doctors in this special is Mark Gatiss, best known for writing for and acting as Mycroft Holmes in Steven Moffat’s Sherlock series, as a currently unnamed World War I general, as well as the return of Pearl Mackie as Bill Potts. It is expected that the end of the special will see Capaldi’s Doctor regenerate into the highly praised Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor. This is certainly shaping up to be a grand send off for a Fantastic version of the Doctor. What do you guys think about the first Doctor Who 2017 Christmas Special clip?
