Final Fantasy XV Announces Special Program Broadcast Coming Soon
Final Fantasy XV is Square Enix’s gift that keeps on giving, with the latest numbered entry in its iconic series beginning to rival Skyrim in the number of ports and new editions the game has spawned. Now, with the game’s two-year anniversary coming later this month, Square Enix is celebrating in style with a “Special Program” broadcast arriving next week.
Square Enix made the announcement via its official YouTube account, which has a video posted that is set to go live on November 7 at 11pm EST. While the Japanese publisher was (of course) silent on what to expect from the broadcast, chances are it’ll be some news about what comes next for Final Fantasy XV. A link to the upcoming video can be found below:
There is of course speculation regarding what we can expect thanks to a recent interview with game director Hajime Tabata. In an interview back in September, Tabata discussed the connection between the dev team and the FFXV player base, stating that, since it still exists, “why not try and create something new based on that need?” He went further, saying, “that’s what we want to do with the next DLCs: create an active relationship with the users. We want to thoroughly secure the story in places where people think there are some pieces missing in the puzzle — we want to alleviate those issues.”
At the same time, we want to build something new with the users, create a different sort of possibility with the direction that the story of Final Fantasy XV could head. That’s something that’s going to be new, and it’s going to be pretty exciting to make. The next DLC will be a brand new story.”
Square Enix has previously stated that four new DLC episodes can be expected by 2019, with the likes of Episode Ardyn receiving top billing. Chances are high that we’ll receive some new word about these 4 DLC episodes when the special program launches on November 7.
Final Fantasy XV is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
