Final Fantasy XV June Update Revealed, Features Episode Prompto and Off-Road Regalia (VIDEO)

Final Fantasy XV June Update

Ahead of Square Enix’s E3 presentation, the Japanese publisher has revealed the details of the upcoming Final Fantasy XV June update, which is set to arrive within the next couple of weeks. Translated by Gematsu, the new content for the game includes a “Regalia Type-D” vehicle, the previously announced “Cup Noodle Star” collaboration equipment, and the arrival of Episode Prompto, the second story DLC to arrive for the game since its release late last year.

Arriving with the update, Episode Prompto represents the second of three story DLCs announced for Final Fantasy XV. The first, Episode Gladiolus, revealed to players the reason why Gladio left the group once the party reached the lighthouse and began repairs on the boat. The DLC itself featured unique gameplay and a new music direction that better suited the Prince’s bodyguard. Episode Prompto will most likely follow the same trend, revealing unique gameplay mechanics and a new theme song for the story DLC, written by composer Naoshi Mizula. The teaser trailer can be seen below:

Tired of driving on the road in Noctis’ vehicle, the Regalia? Wish you could leave the restricted confines of Eos’ never ending pavement prison and drive around amongst the local flora and fauna? Thanks to the upcoming Final Fantasy XV June update, now you can! Introducing the Regalia Type-D – an off-road version of the Regalia that allows players to drive around off the main road with very little restrictions. The new vehicle can even jump, though how that actually works is currently unknown (and a bit concerning).

Final Fantasy XV June Update

Aside from the already announced Episode Ignis arriving later this year, there is currently very little known about the future DLC lineup for Final Fantasy XV. That said, a survey was implemented into the game last month by Square Enix asking players what new content they would like to see in the future. The selections included new story content, such as Ardyn’s past and Lunafreya’s activities. The available survey choices also included new playable characters, such as Cor, Aranea, Iris, and Lunafreya.
