Final Fantasy XV Beaten Without Items or Leveling Up – That’s Right, Level 1 (VIDEO)
It has been refreshing to see a modern Final Fantasy game perform well critically and financially, but also be charming enough in its own right to inspire creativity and celebration from its fan community. We saw one fan willing to pay greatly for a personal message from Prompto for his daughter, and we saw another fan complete the game’s notoriously long boss fight in a significantly shorter amount of time. Now, another fan has completed an impressive feat in the game, by having Final Fantasy XV beaten without items, and without leveling up past level 1.

The video seen above by YouTube user BOYvsVIDEOGAME shows the beginning of his playthrough of Final Fantasy’s story without using a single item or stopping to level up even once. The playlist containing the rest of his playthrough can be found on his YouTube channel also. Through use of the nixperience band accessory, the player is allowed to not automatically level up at hotels, camps or significant chapter endings of the story. Use of the great sword and warp strikes also made it possible for the trickier bosses to be defeated at such a low level. He also seems to rely a lot on the team attacks, such as Gladio’s Tempest, for stealth attacks from behind and Ignis’ Overwhelm ability to deal heavy damage.
This is not BOYvsVIDEOGAME’s first try at this type of Chocobo rodeo. He has also completed Bloodborne without taking a single level and he completed Dragon Age: Inquisition in its Nightmare Mode. What do you guys think? Are you impressed to see Final Fantasy XV beaten without items or leveling up? What games would you like to see BOYvsVIDEOGAME tackle next? Let us know in the comments below!
