Final Fantasy XIV NieR: Automata Crossover Details Revealed
Earlier this year at the Final Fantasy XIV Paris fan festival, game director Naoki Yoshida announced that NieR: Automata game director Yoko Taro and producer Yosuke Saito had been invited on as “guest creators” for a crossover event for the former title. Although a release date was not revealed, it was promised that the content would show up at some point after the Shadowbringers expansion launched for Final Fantasy XIV. Now, new details about the raid have been revealed alongside a narrowed-down release window.
Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV patch 5.1 will be called Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty because of the upcoming NieR: Automata content. Alongside the typical bevy of bug fixes and balance tweaks will be a new Alliance Raid that throws the Warrior of Light and friends into The Copied Factory from NieR: Automata.
As far as what we’ll be seeing in the raid, 2B doesn’t seem to be a possibility, as the star appears to be, er, 2P. That said, we’ll apparently be seeing some surprise guest stars during the raid, so anything is possible. The good news is that fans that have yet to play through NieR: Automata won’t need to have done so to enjoy the story and the content of the raid. That said, NieR: Automata is an absolute delight and anyone that hasn’t played it yet should definitely take the time to.
Final Fantasy XIV: Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty releases in late October. The game’s Shadowbringers expansion is now available.
