Final Fantasy X, X-2 And XII Release Dates Revealed For Switch And Xbox One

Last Fall, Final Fantasy fans were thrilled to hear that Final Fantasy VII, IX, X/X-2, and XII were officially announced for the Nintendo Switch, making it the first time that some of the numbered titles would be appearing on a Nintendo console. Despite a distinct lack of Final Fantasy VIII (sorry, Squall), this was still exciting news, and fans immediately began looking forward to playing some of their favorite FF games on the road. Now, Square Enix has revealed the official release dates of both Final Fantasy X/X-2 and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age for both the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

The news comes by way of the official Final Fantasy Twitter account, which reported today that the games mentioned above would be making their way to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in April of this year. To celebrate, famed character designer Akihiko Yoshida created a new piece of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age artwork. Check it out below:

This is by no means the first time the Final Fantasy X/X-2 bundle has been ported to new consoles, so it is marginally more exciting to hear that the newer Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age remaster is making the jump to the Switch and the Xbox One as well. For those unaware, The Zodiac Age comes packed with new features exclusive to the remaster, and makes it the definitive edition for those that have yet to explore the wide world of Ivalice. More on the remaster can be found right here.
