Final Fantasy VII Remake News Ahead

Final Fantasy VII Remake News Ahead

With development on Kingdom Hearts III having officially wrapped, publisher Square Enix now has its sights on its other long-promised game, the Final Fantasy VII Remake. The road has certainly been a windy one, rife with rumors, delays, and middling progress updates, but these hindrances may just be coming to an end, if the latest word from the Japanese publisher is to be believed.

Final Fantasy VII Remake game director Tetsuya Nomura and producer Yoshinori Kitase recently spoke with Hokanko regarding the upcoming game, wherein it was revealed that development on the game has actually been going pretty well. “Development on Final Fantasy VII Remake is progressing smoothly,” Kitase-san stated, after it was revealed that fans would be able to look forward to “numerous reveals” coming in 2019. “I would like to try hard to meet the expectations of fans.”

The news that some actual game reveals are coming soon lines up with what we heard earlier this year from Tetsuya Nomura, when he revealed that the rumors that the Final Fantasy VII Remake had been put on hold in favor of Kingdom Hearts III were untrue. He then went on to simply say that Square Enix’s PR team was more focused on KH3 since it was coming out soon.

Overall, this is certainly exciting news, especially since the game was initially announced back in 2015. Fans eager to see what’s in store for the remake have long since run out of actual game footage to enjoy, instead filling the void with cosplays and other Final Fantasy titles. Here’s hoping these 2019 reveals will happen sooner rather than later, and that from there they’ll just keep coming.
