This Final Fantasy VII Cloud And Aeris Cosplay Is Scary Good (And Feels-Inducing)
The Final Fantasy series is chock-full of heartbreaking moments. From Josef sacrificing himself to save the rest of the party in Final Fantasy II, to Vivi’s tragic demise at the end of Final Fantasy IX, Square Enix has done a great job of keeping the tears flowing over the years. One such heartbreaking moment in particular resonates strongly with fans of the series, and it is none other than the Final Fantasy VII scene where Cloud says goodbye to Aeris before laying her to rest in the City of the Ancients. That is where this wonderful – if heart-wrenching – cosplay comes in.
Seen above, the Final Fantasy VII cosplay features Wes johnson as Cloud Strife and Sarah “Adella” Quillian as Aeris, posing for that iconic (Cloud use a phoenix down!) scene following the party’s fateful encounter with Sephiroth. From the light rays to the spot-on costume work, the cosplay is already making us dread the inevitable scene when the remake finally arrives. The cosplayers took it even further, though, and did a few underwater shots that came out absolutely perfect! Check ’em out below:
The underwater shots seen above are absolutely breathtaking (hah), and they have a way of invoking some seriously strong memories in any Final Fantasy fan that shed a few tears during this part of Final Fantasy VII. Everything is ‘just right’ here, though it is of course a sad sight to behold. Thankfully, the cosplayers have also done more whimsical scenes from the game as well.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake will arrive at some point in the future.
