Final Fantasy Creator's Fantasian Launches On Apple Arcade With 31 New Games

The Apple Arcade is getting a massive influx of new games. Apple has announced that it is adding over 30 new games to its Apple Arcade subscription service today, April 2, with one of the featured titles being Final Fantasy creator Hironobi Sakaguchi’s Fantasian. As the games will all be part of the Apple Arcade’s newly expanded library, they will all be playable unlocked and ad-free.

Apple took to its official website to announce its “biggest expansion yet” to its Apple Arcade service. Now sporting more than 180 games, the subscription service has added two new categories – Timeless Classics and App Store Greats – in order to more appropriately categorize some of the new offerings. “In its inaugural year, Apple Arcade won over media critics and fans for its creativity, diverse portfolio, and commitment to players’ privacy, providing a safe gaming service to enjoy with family and friends,” said Apple’s App Store vice president Matt Fischer. “Today we’re launching our biggest expansion since the service debuted, now offering more than 180 great games that include new Arcade Originals, Timeless Classics, and App Store Greats.” Here’s the full list of new games releasing today:

As for Final Fantasy creator Hironobi Sakaguchi’s new game, Fantasian offers a unique twist on your typical JRPG, with a game world comprised of 3D dioramas scanned using techniques similar to that of real-world drone mapping. The game consists of over 150 handmade dioramas, all of which blend physical environments and the lovely 3D characters. Check out the latest story trailer for the game:

Fantasian joins the other 31 titles listed above within the Apple Arcade subscription service, which is currently available at a price of $4.99 per month with a one-month free trial. Those that purchase a new Apple product – iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, etc – will qualify for three months of Apple Arcade for free.
