Facebook For Creators Provides Gaming Streamers With Monetization Options

Facebook For Creators

With the constant bombardment of changes coming out of the YouTube camp, gamers and others in the creative community have been affected in a negative way. Monetization has been a major problem in recent months, and with the aforementioned shake-ups, it has left many people on the platform earning less than what they used to. That being said, it looks like a particular social network is throwing its hat into the ring with Facebook For Creators.

The initiative set forth by Facebook, as the name suggests, is intended to give creators a new platform on which they can bring their projects to fruition. It will do this by using the Live feature that is already in place. As for monetization options gaming streamers can expect, it will work similarly to that of the tipping attribute that Twitch offers. However, according to Facebook’s Head of Games Guy Cross, other services could be inbound. Here’s what he said:

We expect to try out other monetization services in addition to those down the road. When it comes to our video platform, we’re entering partnerships where we’re paying our partners to deliver content and help us see the ecosystem and test to see what type of content plays to their strengths. The real plan, over the long haul, is to have these other monetization services take lift and provide these sustainable growth opportunities these creators and publishers will depend upon for the long run.”

Of course, the Facebook For Creators pilot program is geared towards everyone with the passion to create, but it is definitely looking to be a viable option for gamers that are fleeing YouTube. The quality is expected to be on par with other platforms, with streams expected to be a consistent 1080p at 60fps. That being said, it might be worth checking out if you’re in the market for something new.

To sign up for the new program, or gather more information about it, you can do so right here. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming news, check out the following:
