Here’s Your Chance to Check Out Elder Scrolls Online for a Free-to-Play Trial – All Platforms, All Week
If you’ve been curious how the Elder Scrolls universe plays in an MMORPG format and were wanting to try out Elder Scrolls Online before the new Morrowind expansion drops to see if you like it, now’s your chance! Bethesda made the announcement that the title will be completely free-to-play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC all week ending on April 18th. Not only will the full title be available for a trial period, players interested will also receive 500 free crowns which can be used for things like cosmetic upgrades, mounts, pets, and more.
If Elder Scrolls Online meets first time players’ expectations, the game will be offered at a discounted price – try before you buy, buy cheap. A good deal for a game with regular updates to keep gameplay fresh in the world of Tamriel. The usual price for the Gold Edition, which includes all of the expansions released so far, retails for 60 USD, whereas the base game with none of the additional content normally fetches the price of 30 USD.
The Morrowind expansion that is set to drop this June is something that instantly grabbed the attention both new and veteran players. Not only does it bring back familiar areas from games past, but it also comes bearing a new class to play in this title, as well. The announcement trailer, which can be seen above, for Morrowind definitely incited a renewal of reasons to play and gave curious gamers a reason to give the title another glance. Check out ESO for free before the expansion hits – no harm, no foul.
There was also a live demo of how the new Warden class plays in a stream Bethesda held a week ago, you can see the gameplay video below:
The Elder Scrolls Online game is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. With Skyrim available on the Nintendo Switch, fans have been inquiring as to whether or not ESO will make the jump to latest Nintendo console. As of right now, there are no plans in the foreseeable future for a Switch port. The free-to-play trial starts at 7 AM PT on April 11th and will last until the end of April 18th.
