Elden Ring’s Tutorial Is No Longer Quite So Easy To Miss
While the secrets of Elden Ring are continuing to be laid bare months after the game’s release, some folks are still managing to accidentally skip by the tutorial in the starting area, due in no small part to, well, how easy it is to skip. Thankfully this is no longer the case, as the latest Elden Ring patch has added a disclaimer that pops up when players get close enough to the pit at the tutorial area’s entrance.
For those unfamiliar, the tutorial area for Elden Ring is known as the Cave of Knowledge, and acts as a primer for newcomers and Souls veterans alike. The kicker is that the tutorial only starts after the player drops down a sizable hole, so many folks skip it and go up the stairs and out into the open world instead. Now, at least a warning pops up explaining that the hole next to the ghostly sitting in a chair leads to the tutorial area. Here’s a screenshot of the warning courtesy of IGN:
There’s no mention of the added disclaimer in the Elden Ring 1.04 patch notes, though the addition of the warning implies that there were enough complaints about the lack thereof to warrant it. One thing to note is that, for some reason, the warning isn’t appearing for all players that have approached the start of the tutorial area, so it begs wondering what exactly triggers it. Those looking to check out the full 1.04 patch notes can do so right here.
Elden Ring is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
