What Remains of Edith Finch – A Family’s Fight to Overcome a Fatal Curse Comes to Xbox One
PS4 and PC originally enjoyed the initial release of the narrative-driven first person game in April. In just a week fans will get to enjoy What Remains of Edith Finch on Xbox One as well. Developer Giant Sparrow made the announcement recently to bring the news of opening up platform availability this week to players interested in this strong narrative.
What Remains of Edith Finch takes place in Washington state where the family attempts to outlive a curse. Each generation only sees one sole survivor to carry on the family. Everyone else, young and old, dies before they can carry on the name. The finches home grows into a memorial put together by Edith Finch herself as the home expands to accommodate the growing number of passing relatives.
Players take on the role of Edith Finch Jr., the youngest Finch and sole member of the Finch family. Players explore the Finch home and uncover the truth of the family through narratives, items, cutscenes, and minigames. The game is critically acclaimed and Xbox One players have a lot to look forward to.
As seen in the trailer above, players take on a myriad of roles that depict the lives of various family members. Differing art styles tell the tales of each character, giving players a sense of separation and an idea of the personality of the person being portrayed. The game is a beautiful first person adventure through the misfortune of a family, exploring life as much as death.
