New Dynasty Warriors 9 Gameplay Video Shows How The Franchise Will Pull Off An Open World (VIDEO)

When the news first hit that the next installment in the famed Dynasty Warriors franchise would be an immersive open world experience for the first time ever, players of this long-standing narrative were incredibly excited to see how the studio would pull it off. We’ve gotten an in-depth look at the process in the past but not a lot else to go on other than a debut trailer and a few screenshots. Now those curious as to how this leap into open world will develop can get their first glimpse with a brand new Dynasty Warriors 9 gameplay video courtesy of Sony’s Joy Press Conference. Check out the video below for yourself:

The Dynasty Warriors 9 gameplay video above is a mere 6 minutes long, but it does offer insight into the world of ancient China with the three warring armies: Wu, Shu, and Wei. The video above shows a more traversal mode of travel and exploration for the player, much more than games past. The feature above puts the players into the shoes of a warrior from the Shu army: Guan Yu. This also gives interested gamers a look at just how the exploration will tie into the more traditional play-style known within the Dynasty Warriors franchise.

Dynasty Warriors 9 does not have a set release date at this time, but we do know that it will be coming to the west at a later date than its Japanese counterpart. This title will be for the PlayStation 4 and will be the largest title yet in the serires. Are you excited to see what’s next for this epic franchise?
