The long awaited list of voice actors for the English dub of Dragon Ball Super has finally been announced, and you won’t be surprised, nor will you be disappointed. The cast is almost entirely comprised of the actors that made the anime famous in the English version of Dragon Ball Z. Goku is once again played by Sean Schemmel, Vegeta will be voiced by Christopher R. Sabat, and Sonny Strait will return as Krillin.

Fans were elated when the original crew were cast for the anime films Dragon “Ball Z: Battle of the Gods”, and “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’,”. Schemmel and company were also featured as the English voice actors for video games, Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Xenoverse 2. It is likely that the return of the original cast will also be celebrated for Dragon Ball Super.

Dragon Ball Super is being presided over by Akira Toriyama, and is considered official cannon. The Dragon Ball GT (not written by Toriyama) still hangs in a sort of limbo, as recognized but not technically part of the lore, and fan opinions are split on whether or not they enjoyed the show.

Dragon Ball Super takes place years after Dragon Ball Z, and Goku and his family have settled down for a nice quiet life, (of course that never works out quite like expected). If you haven’t seen the recent films, you’re still in the clear, because the first several episodes are essentially condensed versions of Battle of the Gods and Ressurection “F”.
