Doom Guy’s Name Confirmed To Be Doom Guy By Doom Co-Creator
1993 was a wonderful year for gamers as it marked the release of one of the most popular shooter series in gaming history. That said, with the recent celebration of the 26th anniversary of Doom 2, co-creator John Romero has been offering up some trivia, including the official name of Doom Guy.
Romero recently took to Twitter to answer some questions from fans, but one notable query was about the name of the series’ protagonist. Fans have always referred to the character as Doom Guy, but there have been conspiracies over the years that point to other possible names. Therefore, when one fan asked about the name, Romero confirmed that it is indeed Doom Guy.

And there you have it, Doom Guy is the official name of the main protagonist from the Doom series. While it is certainly cool to think Wolfenstein’s B.J. Blazkowicz could be the one and only Doom Guy, we’ll just have to accept that he is only his great-grandpa. As for John Kane and Flynn Taggart, those were the names of the main characters in the Doom novels, but it would appear Mr. Guy reigns supreme.
As for the latest release, DOOM Eternal is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch port arriving at some point in the future.
