Thank goodness, Square Enix is finally adding a martial artist to Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. While I would’ve loved if Zell from Final Fantasy VIII or even Yang from Final Fantasy IV had gotten some love, Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII is just as deserving, especially since she’s ‘something’ of a fan favorite.

Square Enix announced that Tifa would be joining the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT roster in a brand new reveal trailer, showing off some of her moves in a battle against, who else, Sephiroth. It is also interesting to note that, despite the recent reveal for Tifa’s new look in the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, she still retains her iconic look from the original game, albeit a bit cleaned up and with current-gen graphics. Tifa will be added in to the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT roster on July 2nd/3rd for Steam/PlayStation 4. Given her prowess, she will be coming to the game as a ‘speed’ type fighter. Her DLC will also include a few color variations of her iconic look, with an alternate outfit choice in the form of her look from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, which also comes in a few different color variations. She will also have access to a few different weapon options: 3 unique looking pairs of gloves, and one pair of claws.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is now available free-to-play for PC and PlayStation 4.
