Disney’s Mulan Live-Action Remake Recieves Filming Date and Location
Disney’s Mulan is one of the more famous films of the company’s history. The story follows a Chinese woman who disguises herself as a man and takes her father’s place in the Imperial Chinese Army. It has become one of Disney’s greatest classics so it’s no surprise then that the film is receiving a live-action remake similar to other famous Disney films such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, and more. The film has now received filming dates and film locations.
A new listing shows that the film will begin shooting in January of 2018. Scenes will be shot at several locations in China, Australia, and New Zealand. Casting decisions have yet to be made, though fans of the popular movie have already begun picking out their dream picks.
The film recently found its director in Niki Caro, who recently shocked fans by saying that iconic Disney music numbers would not be featured in the film. However she later stated that the film has much more that needs to be done before the film can find its musical identity.
Disney’s Mulan is set to be released sometime in 2019, however casting should begin before the end of the year. Will the film live up to its origins as a ballad and later an animated film?
