Disney+ Streaming Service Revealed, Everything Confirmed For Launch (VIDEO)

Over the last year or so, news about Disney’s step into the Netflix-style on-demand game has been slowly trickling out, with various shows being announced as well as some interesting tidbits regarding a certain Star Wars series. Called Disney+, the house of mouse has now taken the opportunity to pull back the curtain and unveil new details about what’s actually on the way to the Disney streaming service on November 12th.

Revealed during a recent Disney investor event, over 7,500 episodes of television and an assortment of 500 films were confirmed over the course of the platform’s first year. In this time, over 25 original series as well as 10 original films, documentaries, and specials are set to premiere alongside a bevy of film and TV content from Disney, Marvel Studios, Pixar, National Geographic, and 20th Century Fox libraries.

The launch of Disney+ will debut quite a few original programs, including the likes of big-budget Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian, Goldblumy educational program The World According to Jeff Goldblum, as well as self-aware reboot High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. There’s also yet another remake set to premiere on launch day; a live-action Lady and the Tramp starring Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux as the respective Lady and Tramp.

As Disney’s entire catalog is planned to arrive on the platform eventually, Disney+ will get quite the head start with over 5000+ episodes of Disney Channel programming and 100+ Original Movies joining the service at launch. The current slate of Pixar films is also to make their streaming debut, including everything from Toy Story to Incredibles 2. Following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, all 30 seasons of The Simpsons will be available to binge in its entirety as well.

Disney+ is planning to launch November 12th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in addition to web browsers, smart TVs, and mobile devices. Monthly subscriptions will go for $6.99 USD  or $69.99 USD for yearly memberships. The current launch day lineup for Disney+ can be viewed below:
