Detective Pikachu 2 Announced For Nintendo Switch

Earlier this week, The Pokemon Company and related developers made a handful of huge announcements during the live Pokemon Press Conference. As E3 2019 fast approaches, studios are amping up development to meet deadlines and create showcase content for gamers around the world. In addition to the upcoming release of Sword & Shield, there are a few other franchise entries the team has in store, including a brand new Detective Pikachu game headed to the Nintendo Switch.

Straight from a recap of the Pokemon Press Conference, their official blog post reads: “The release of the Pokemon Detective Pikachu movie has left fans wanting more of the famous Pokemon sleuth. Creatures, Inc., has plans to create a new entry in the Detective Pikachu video game series for Nintendo Switch. The original Detective Pikachu game for the Nintendo 3DS ended on a cliffhanger and this upcoming game will be a conclusion to that story. The majority of the details are still a mystery, so keep checking for more information.”

In other words, the upcoming Detective Pikachu title will be a direct sequel to the 3DS release from 2016. Other than that, The Pokemon Company tells fans that more details are on the way soon. In the meantime, check out all the other announcements from their live event the other day here.
