Demon’s Souls Remake Dev Seemingly Acquired By Sony
It looks like Housemarque isn’t the only dev studio Sony Interactive Entertainment has scooped up today. Following the recent announcement of the company’s acquisition of the Returnal studio, an official image has surfaced online suggesting that Sony has also acquired Demon’s Souls Remake developer Bluepoint Games, which would naturally significantly elevate the already stellar partnership between the studio and the PlayStation company.
As reported by Gematsu, the official Japanese PlayStation Twitter account posted a picture earlier today that depicted the PlayStation Studios and Bluepoint Games logos side by side, with the words ‘Welcome To The Family’ underneath. The background of the image depicts several PlayStation exclusive titles, with one of them being the Demon’s Souls Remake. The image can be seen below:
The tweet in question has since been deleted, though not before it was circulated on the internet. Assuming this is in fact a precursor to an official announcement from Sony, it only makes sense given the company’s longstanding partnership with Bluepoint. The studio has already made several remakes of classic PlayStation titles, and one can’t help but be excited at the prospect of Bluepoint having access to some of Sony’s older classic games in hopes of creating remakes or remasters. DFTG will keep an eye on things should there be an official confirmation from Sony.
