Deep Down Reportedly Gets Rebranded, May Appear At TGS 2019
Capcom’s long-awaited follow up to cult hit Dragon’s Dogma has been in development for quite some time. The project, known as Deep Down, isn’t a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma but is very much a game in the same vein. Instead of Hideki Itsuno, though, Street Fighter series vet Yoshinori Ono is overseeing the 4-player coop dungeon crawler. The game was revealed at the unveiling of the PlayStation 4 way back in 2013. Beyond some info saying the scope of the title expanded in 2015, little has been said about Deep Down since.
That may change when Tokyo Game Show 2019 rolls around in September. The annual gaming convention plays host to numerous announcements from Japan’s biggest names in video games, and with the convenient timing of a new trademark filing, Deep Down will reportedly have some kind of presence at the show. Capcom recently registered a trademark for a product called “Shinseki: Into The Depths.” Given that Deep Down wasn’t announced as the project’s final title, the possibility of the game being rebranded to this is definitely there.
The connection between the subtitle “Into the Depths” and the original project name “Deep Down” is undeniable. Perhaps Capcom nailing down the title is some kind of indication that they are nearly finished with the game? We’ll all might find out during Tokyo Game Show 2019 from September 11th-September 15th.
